Felton is located on Highway Nine about seven miles north of Santa Cruz City. It has a population of 4,100 people and was historically a logging town. This heritage lives on at Roaring Camp, a tourist railroad where visitors can ride trains that were once used to transport lumber and lime kiln products to the ocean for export. Of all the communities in the San Lorenzo Valley area, Felton has the largest and busiest downtown.
